End-to-End Integrated solutions from Dentsply Sirona: From diagnosis to the final restoration
One year after the merger, at the IDS 2017, Dentsply Sirona will be presenting itself as a full-range provider of integrated solutions for better, safer, faster dental health care. General practitioners, specialists and their patients all benefit from efficient workflows.
Bensheim/Salzburg, March 21, 2017.
"We no longer think in
individual products or modules, but in intelligent solutions. This
enables us to support dentists and dental technicians to provide better,
safer, and faster dental treatments. That is our
mission and the reason why we call ourselves 'The Dental Solutions
Company'" explained Jeffrey T. Slovin, Chief Executive Officer of
Dentsply Sirona at this year's IDS press conference. While dental
treatments always take a customized approach, they must adhere
to clinically proven processes (protocols). As part of these processes,
practitioners use a range of technologies, devices and consumables. If
these products and processes are ideally coordinated, this has a
positive impact on the treatment: Patients can be
provided with improved, more time-efficient and safer treatments. Given
its comprehensive market expertise and broad product portfolio,
Dentsply Sirona is in an unparalleled position in the industry to
intelligently combine the individual products to create
a unique workflow, starting from the diagnosis and extending through to
the final restoration.
Intelligent solutions for successful treatments
To face
every challenge, the company has developed a clinically tested process
in which all the steps connect, just like the stations of a metro line:
For required flexibility, "the switch possibilities"
ensure alternative routes. This "line network" which symbolizes the
digital networking of processes opens up a world of opportunities for
general practitioners and specialists alike: Depending on the
indication, patient's wishes or the practitioner's personal
preferences, efficient and successful workflows can be followed to
reach the goal quickly and effectively. "Our customers can be confident
that the solutions that we offer have been thought through from start to
finish and are underpinned by extensive research
and documentation. Each year we invest more than $125 million in the
development of products and solutions. Over 600 scientists and engineers
work together and supervise more than 50 clinical studies annually. We
pass on this know-how to our users via the
industry's largest training platform comprising approximately 11,000
courses in more than 80 countries. We do this because we want our
customers and their patients to be able to rest assured that they are
offering and receiving the best possible dental treatment",
stated Christopher T. Clark, President and Chief Operating Officer,
Technologies.
Strong partner for integrated solutions
When it
comes to developing interdisciplinary workflows, the company is already
leading the way. For example, the 3D Endo software is a CBCT-based
software that guarantees the successful planning
of endodontic treatments. To support the actual treatment, Dentsply
Sirona Restorative developed an integrated treatment solution from the
root to the crown: R2C. Implantology is another area where Dentsply
Sirona technologies dovetail perfectly: From diagnostics
with 3D imaging to planning with the corresponding software and digital
impressions, clinically tested implants can be inserted safely and
quickly before being restored with a CAD/CAM solution. Furthermore, the
implantology function integrated in the Teneo
and Sinius treatment centers offers maximum comfort during treatments.
Innovations for safe workflows down to the last detail
Seamlessly
structured processes are enabled thanks to the innovative features and
products which Dentsply Sirona will be exhibiting at the IDS 2017: For
example, the versatile complete imaging solution
Orthophos SL now features a new function which is available as an
upgrade. With immediate effect, the radiation dose for 3D images can be
reduced to a level for certain clinical indications which, to date, has
only been associated with 2D images. The CEREC
software has also been comprehensively updated to transform it into a
system offering almost unlimited possibilities: The CEREC SW 4.5 with
its intelligent tools can make it even easier for newcomers to enter the
world of digital prosthetics. The new Dentsply
Sirona Hub supports the integration of CEREC into the practice via its
"Plug & Play" interfaces. All clinical data and the backup of the
CAD/CAM data can thus be saved and archived centrally and called up at
any time as needed.
For
endodontics, the WaveOne Gold family of reciprocating files has been
enhanced to include the WaveOne Gold Glider. It is the first
reciprocating glide path file on the market. The metallurgical
state-of-the-art WaveOne Gold instruments facilitate root canal
preparations with an efficient one file technique.
In the
field of implantology, the OsseoSpeed Profile EV implant (Astra Tech
Implant System) has been developed for implant patients with an
extremely reduced bone volume. Thanks to this solution,
augmentation is now often no longer necessary.
In
handpieces, the short version S-Line has been added to the contra-angle
series T2 and T3. This new version impresses with its reduced overall
weight. The hygiene handpiece Midwest RDH and the cordless
prophylaxis system Nupro Freedom mark further additions to the
handpiece range.
For the
laboratory, the company offers software solutions such as the latest
updates for inLab CAD SW 16.0 and inLab CAM SW 16.0; material
innovations like Celtra Press (the pressable ZLS), Cercon
xt (the extra translucent zirconia), and inCoris CCB (the new sintered
metal disc for the inLab MC X5 milling unit); and the Atlantis
CustomBase solution for screw-retained single tooth restorations.
"With its
extensive product and solution innovations, Dentsply Sirona has once
again demonstrated its commitment to using digital technologies to
enable dental professionals to provide better, safer
and faster dental care", stressed Jeffrey T. Slovin. "It is all about
supporting our customers in practices and laboratories.”
