Getting braces can throw your life for a loop. To assist the growing number of children, teens and adults in need of braces-lifestyle information, http://www.MetalMouthMedia.net debuts this month as a one-stop resource for consumers and dental-care professionals.
“The foundation of the company is our experience,” said Pamela Waterman, president of Metal Mouth Media – taking the bite out of braces. Ms. Waterman, who wore full-metal braces as a child and tiny bracket-braces as an adult, also coached her three teenaged daughters through the challenges of wearing wires.

With her youngest daughter, Brenda, Ms. Waterman developed the original The Braces Cookbook: Recipes You (and Your Orthodontist) Will Love. With Chef Amee Hoge, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute, New York, Ms. Waterman also created a gourmet cookbook for adult braces wearers. Both books won awards for publishing and parenting excellence.
An engineer by training, Ms. Waterman most recently established the unique Braces-Friendly Seal of Approval program. It provides consumers with the evaluations of an independent panel of real braces-wearers on a wide variety of dental-care products.

This new service augments Metal Mouth Media’s extensive research and aggregation of up-to-the-minute dental-care information that can now be found in Wired-In, the site’s new blog (formerly SilverSmileSurvival) and Straight Talk, the company’s inaugural monthly newsletter.
“Orthodontists, dentists, parents, and patients around the world have discovered our resources,” Ms. Waterman noted, citing book sales and inquiries from England, Canada, Australia and Singapore. "This is 'the' online place for solving what-do-I-eat-now-that-I-have-braces challenges. We've even been told, it's going to make kids want braces!"

To celebrate National Orthodontic Health Month and the launch of http://www.MetalMouthMedia.net (formerly http://www.BracesCookbook.com), the company is offering an advanced order price on the new, full-color and expanded editions of The Braces Cookbook: Recipes You (and your Orthodontist) Will Love (for children, teens and families) and The Braces Cookbook 2: Comfort Food with a Gourmet Touch (for adults and families). Building on the six printings of the original title, the revised books are scheduled for an early December publication.
