Colgate® “Destination Innovation” Discovery Bus Tours Drive Attendance of Over 100 Dental Professionals During 2014 Greater New York Dental Meeting

Dentists and Hygienists Explore the Company’s Global Research & Technology Center While Learning Directly from Colgate® Experts

New York, NY (December 23, 2014) – Colgate®’s “Destination Innovation” Discovery Bus tours recently provided over 100 dentists and hygienists the opportunity to visit the company’s Global Research & Technology Center in Piscataway, New Jersey, during the 2014 Greater New York Dental Meeting.
“The Destination Innovation Discovery Bus Tour was a truly noteworthy event,” remarked
Dr. Fotinos S. Panagakos, Global Director, Scientific Affairs and Research Relations for the Colgate-Palmolive Company. “The feedback we received from guests was invaluable. Not only did attendees learn more about the inner workings of our clinical research environment but we as a company learned a lot from speaking one-on-one with clinicians. We had a nice mixture of true Colgate advocates and a handful that had many excellent questions. I think all attendees walked away with an increased respect and understanding of our dedicated Colgate research team that works tirelessly to deliver current and proven oral healthcare information. We look forward to providing more experiences like this in the near future and encourage all dental professionals to take the opportunity to learn more about Colgate and our products.”
With exclusive Colgate-branded buses departing from the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center twice per day on December 1st and 2nd, passengers aboard the tour buses enjoyed a VIP experience that included a rare opportunity to meet the experts behind Colgate’s superior oral healthcare products, learn the science behind the popular Colgate Total® toothpaste and experience the unique environment where Colgate’s innovative products are conceived, researched and developed.
The full educational experience began immediately upon boarding the Destination Innovation Discovery Bus. A dedicated tour host conducted a traveling interactive learning experience for all passengers while select Colgate scientists were on hand to answer any questions. With an ample amount of time during the bus ride to Piscataway, guests were treated to educational videos about Colgate’s history and were also given a light-hearted Jeopardy-like quiz comprised of simple questions about the surrounding tri-state area, dental history and holiday fun facts, as well as industry-specific questions that only savvy dental professionals would know.
Upon arrival at Colgate’s Global Research & Technology Center guests were greeted by Colgate experts and treated to a number of informative presentations. All guests were able to thoroughly examine relevant current topics such as evidence-based dentistry, microbiology, triclosan safety, periodontal therapy, implants and implant maintenance, and much more.

The educational Destination Innovation Discovery Bus Tour was free of charge and all guests received 3 CE credits. In addition, complimentary lunch was provided for each tour.
