Sonendo’s GentleWave Procedure Surpasses 2 Million Patients
Sonendo, Inc. (“Sonendo” or the “Company”), a leading dental technology company and developer of the GentleWave® System, today announced that more than two million patients have now been treated with the GentleWave Procedure since its market introduction.

Redefining the standard of care for root canal therapy, the GentleWave Procedure offers a minimally invasive process that cleans and disinfects deep regions of the complex root canal system. The clinical benefits of the GentleWave System, when compared to conventional methods of root canal therapy, include improved clinical outcomes, high and rapid rates of healing, and minimal to no postoperative pain. This latest milestone demonstrates growing clinical and patient preference for modern root canal technology that prioritizes patient outcomes and the patient experience.
“Since the introduction of the GentleWave Procedure to our practice, my patients have experienced less pain and less time in the treatment chair,” said Dr. Jeffrey Kawilarang, DDS, MSD, of Sunny Hills Endodontics. “We are now able to schedule single-visit treatment with confidence. Patients no longer need to take another day off work or hire a babysitter for another day. We are simply able to get patients out of pain quicker and more predictably.”
“We have seen a really positive change in the patient experience since bringing the GentleWave Procedure into our practice,” said Dr. Ankit Keshaw, DDS, of Vital Endodontics and Access Endodontics. “A lot of people come in nervous because of what they have heard about root canals, and being able to explain the GentleWave technology and the way we approach treatment helps make the whole experience feel much more comfortable and reassuring.”
“We are excited to see how the GentleWave Procedure continues to improve patient care,” said Kevin Yein, Vice President of R&D at Sonendo. “We remain committed to driving innovation to elevate patient care and supporting our joint mission of Saving Teeth and Restoring Health.”
The flagship GentleWave G4 Consoles and CleanFlow Procedure Instruments used in the GentleWave Procedure are assembled at Sonendo’s manufacturing facility in California.
“Our patients are at the core of everything we do,” added Bjarne Bergheim, President and CEO of Sonendo. “We will continue our relentless focus on elevating patient care and improving practice workflow through innovation and operational excellence. We are incredibly thankful to our GentleWave providers and the entire Sonendo team for helping us reach this major milestone.”
About Sonendo
Sonendo is a commercial-stage medical technology company focused on saving teeth from tooth decay, the most prevalent chronic disease globally. Sonendo develops and manufactures the GentleWave System, an innovative technology platform designed to treat tooth decay by cleaning and disinfecting the microscopic spaces within teeth without the need to remove tooth structure. The system utilizes a proprietary mechanism of action that combines procedure fluid optimization, broad-spectrum acoustic energy, and advanced fluid dynamics to debride and disinfect deep regions of the complex root canal system in a less invasive procedure that preserves tooth structure. The clinical benefits of the GentleWave System, when compared to conventional methods of root canal therapy, include improved clinical outcomes, such as superior cleaning that is independent of root canal complexity and tooth anatomy, high and rapid rates of healing, and minimal to no postoperative pain. In addition, the GentleWave System can improve the workflow and economics of dental practices.
