Align showcased its latest innovations in digital dentistry across the Align Digital Platform—a unique combination of software, systems, and services designed to provide a seamless experience and end-to-end workflow that integrates and connects all users—doctors, labs, patients, and consumers.

exocad, an Align Technology company, also exhibited at GNYDM and showcased its latest software release: DentalCAD® 3.3 Chemnitz. This latest version delivers a substantially upgraded Implant Module, a new split denture design workflow, and access to the new AI-enabled multi-unit design*.

At the event, Align and exocad hosted a series of educational sessions designed to help dental professionals enhance clinical outcomes, patient treatment experiences, and practice growth.

Align’s booth featured hands-on experiences with its most advanced innovations, including:

iTero Lumina scanner: Powered by iTero Multi-Direct Capture technology with 3x larger field of view¹ and a maximum capture distance of 25 mm², designed to scan 2x faster² and simplify the capture of challenging areas for dentures, palates, edentulous spaces, and other complex cases. It facilitates the capture of all case types and supports highly efficient workflows. With superior full-jaw clinical accuracy compared to tested intraoral scanners³, iTero Lumina™ solutions enable predictable and repeatable first-time restoration fit⁴ from single-unit crowns to removable prosthetics.

Align Oral Health Suite: Comparison tools that aid in multi-modality assessments and personalized oral health reports. Align Oral Health Suite enhances patient-driven interest and engagement with iTero Element Plus series and iTero Lumina scan images set up within clinical findings to help drive doctor-patient conversations about treatment options. The all-in-one chairside consultation can help patients see the possible oral health conditions and associated root causes.

Invisalign Smile Architect: Treatment planning software now with Multiple Treatment Plans, allowing doctors to visually compare and modify orthodontic-only and ortho-restorative treatment plans side-by-side. The Multiple Treatment Plans are integrated into ClinCheck® treatment planning software for doctors to visually compare, review, and choose the best treatment option for each patient.

iTero Design Suite: Software innovation designed to help doctors boost their practice efficiency and elevate patient experiences by shortening time to treatment through an intuitive way to design for in-practice 3D printing. The iTero Design Suite enhances the Align Digital Platform, which provides an innovative portfolio of customer-focused technologies that enable seamless end-to-end workflows for dental professionals.

ClinCheck Signature experience: A faster, live, and more tailored approach to treatment planning with confidence, now available globally and including the ClinCheck® Live family of innovations. Powered by tools like the Invisalign Personalized Plan, ClinCheck Pro, Flex Rx, ClinCheck Live Update, and ClinCheck Live Plan, this workflow allows doctors to spend less time on revisions and more time with patients.

Align also sponsored multiple clinical education sessions led by industry experts:

  • Driving Practice Productivity & Growth with Invisalign Treatment — Nicole Rouleau
  • Simplifying Diagnosis and Case Planning — Dr. Corey Anolik
  • Bridging Ortho and Restorative: A Digital Approach to Treatment Planning — Dr. Steven Glassman
  • Empowering Treatment Decisions Through Modern Patient Education and Digital Workflows — Dr. Michael DiTolla

“It was a pleasure to meet with doctors and their teams to discuss how Align’s innovations can enhance treatment planning, practice workflows, and, above all, treatment experiences that transform smiles for patients of all ages,” said Frank Quinn, Align Technology EVP and managing director, Americas. “We are grateful to the expert Invisalign-trained doctors for leading impactful clinical education sessions and to all the attendees who joined us. 3. Based on bench testing conducted using ADA/ANSI 132 standard model simulating “long distance accuracy (full jaw measurement)” in July 2024. Method: Comparative test to evaluate full arch accuracy (global accuracy), repeatability, and reproducibility of intraoral scanners as described in ADA standard 132 [2015]. Sample: 3 operators, 30 repetitive scans each; n=90 scans per scanner. Scanners tested: iTero Lumina; Trios 5; CS3800; Medit i700; Allied Star. Results: The accuracy of iTero Lumina is significantly higher than that of all 4 other scanners, with a reduction of total error ranging from 0.11% to 0.46%. Accuracy defined as accumulated average error + STD of all measurements. Data on file at Align Technology, as of August 26, 2024.
  4. Based on bench testing conducted in June 2024 according to ADA/ANSI 132 standard requirements for long distance full-jaw accuracy (average error 0.03%–0.24% < 0.25%), crown accuracy (average error 0%–0.9% < 1%), and inlay accuracy specimens (average error 0%–0.4% < 1%).
