Eco-Dentistry Association Launches High-Time for High-Tech Campaign

New campaign shows dentists how technology boosts the bottom line while reducing environmental impact

Berkeley, CA (August 6, 2012) The Eco-Dentistry Association has just launched “High-Time for High-Tech”, an educational campaign helping to connect dentists with the latest and most innovative technology available in dentistry, while also helping them to run a more efficient, state-of-the-art, eco-friendly dental practice. The campaign begins early August and continues until the ADA Convention in October, where the EDA will host a live “tweet up” and booth, and will collaborate with campaign sponsors to bring attendees special offers and hands on experience with high-tech, green dental office products.
“High-Time for High-Tech” is the EDA’s first educational campaign focusing solely on how technology helps dental offices reduce waste and pollution and save energy, water and money. The campaign also helps dental practitioners understand how technological tools, like digital imaging and salivary diagnostics, support them in effectively reaching the 100 million American wellness-lifestyle patients. According to the EDA, many dental practitioners already take advantage of digital dentistry and may not realize that their office is greener than they think. “There’s a 1:1 correlation between the high-tech choice and the eco-friendly choice,” says EDA Co- Founder Ina Pockrass. “Our ‘High-Time for High-Tech’ campaign helps dentists get the most out of the investments in technology they’ve made and learn more about new innovations that can make their practice even more profitable and more environmentally sound.”
The “High-Time for High-Tech” campaign includes a free educational webinar on October 12th and will be open to all dental professionals interested in learning how to run a high-tech, green dental office. Registration will open in early September at www.ecodentistry.org. Follow the Eco-Dentistry Association on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ecodentistry) and Twitter (www.Twitter.com/Ecodentistry) to stay abreast of the latest campaign highlights and special offers.
‘High-Time for High-Tech’ sponsors include Guru Patient Communication Suite and the DentalEZ EverLight, an LED operatory light, both of which have been awarded the EDA Accepted Seal. The EDA Accepted Seal is awarded only to products and services that offer exceptional environmental benefits for the dental practice or dental industry.
About the EDA
The EDA offers dental professionals’ practical tips on incorporating eco-friendly dental methods and practices, and offers the public access to dental professionals that share their values of wellness and environmental stewardship. The organization was co-founded by Dr. Fred Pockrass, a dentist, and his wife, Ina Pockrass, who together created the model for eco-friendly dentistry, and operate their own award-winning dental practice in Berkeley, California, the first in the country to be certified as a green business. They formed the organization to stimulate a movement in the dental industry to employ environmentally-sound practices, like reducing waste and pollution, saving energy, water and money, incorporating wellness-based methods and the best technological advances in dentistry.
